09/11/23 morning – Vishramavata (Bengali) – Vrindavana, India | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

  • Visrama Vat is a place where Caitanya Mahaprabhu rested.
  • On this day, the first place we usually stop is Kesi Gatha, but today it was not possible to sit there.
  • None of the demons that Kamsa sent to kill Krsna returned.
  • Kamsa organises a large assembly of demons to devise his plans.
  • Madhumangala is Krsna’s priya-narma-sakha (intimate friend). He borrows from Krsna His peacock feather, flute and yellow clothes.
  • Kesi, the horse demon, arrives in Vrndavana and attacks Madhumangala; Krsna protects him and fights.
  • Rupa Gosvami says: don’t go to Vrndavana, to Kesi-gatha, don’t have Govinda’s darsana, because if you do, you won’t return home.
  • Lila of the gopis going to feed Durvasa Rsi; they call Krsna the horse brahmachari.
  • The essence of doing parikrama is chanting the holy names, listening to harikatha, and not talking about worldly things.
  • Organising a parikrama is very difficult, we have to take care of the well-being of many people.
  • When you are at parikrama, walk behind the sadhus, don’t walk in front of them!
