05/08/23 morning – Maya Devi, Nama and Mantra (English translation) – Bangalore, India | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

  • Those who wish to perform bhakti must follow the 64 angas (limbs) of bhakti.
  • By following vaidhi-marga, the ray of love of the Vrajavasis will come and raganuga-bhakti will arise.
  • Difference between nitya-parikara-tattva and jiva-tattva.
  • Always read the Jaiva-dharma sastra.
  • The different jivas come from the three expansions of the Lord: Baladeva Prabhu, Sankarsana and Karanodakasayi Visnu, the latter of which includes two types: nitya-muktas (eternally liberated) and nitya-baddhas (eternally conditioned).
  • Maya Devi is like a witch, a ghost made of ethereal elements like the cloud, which we can see but not touch.
  • Maya’s job is to throw us into the material world and cover us with gross and subtle elements.
  • Maya always covers us with three kinds of miseries: tamas, rajas and sattva.
  • Gradually the sadhu gives the medicine, which are the mantras, to get rid of Maya.
  • By chanting the mantras given by the sadhu, such as the diksa mantras, the ghosts will go away.
  • The maha-mantra is available to everyone because it is the best mantra.
  • Perfection in the mantra can only be achieved when it is received by a self-realised soul, otherwise it just accumulates sukrti.
  • The peculiarities of nama and mantra.
-Example of when Gurudeva gave all the donation money for pujari when he had darshan of the deity Govinda Dev in Jayapur.
  • Explanation of each word of the diksa-mantras.
  • Chanting the mantra, little by little, the perfection of the mantra will come.
