03 Dec 2025 evening – Gita-jayanti (English) – Igualada, Spain | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

– Bhagavad Gita is part of the Mahabharata, which is also known as the fifth Veda.
– We are not our bodies. We are souls and eternal servants of Krishna.
– The size of the soul is described in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad (5.9) as bālāgra-śata-bhāgasya śatadhā kalpitasya ca.
– Without the mercy of the guru and Krishna, one cannot understand spiritual things.
– Sanjaya, in Indraprastha, saw everything on Kurukshetra through the mercy of Vyasadeva, using his transcendental vision.
– The three qualities required to approach a guru (BG 4.34).
– Ask the guru spiritual questions, as Sanatana Gosvami asked Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, ‘Who am I?’
– The chastisement of a guru: a story about a brahmachari who wanted to leave the temple because a pujari had chastised him for being late with the water from the Ganges, and a story about a clay pot that started to tell a brahmachari its life story.
– Drinking water from a clay pot is healthier than drinking from a copper pot.
– Gour Govinda Svami Maharaja said that even if you serve Guru and Krishna a little, they will be happy. However, if you serve your family members all your life, they will never be happy.
– Verse: patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ yo me bhaktyā prayacchati…(BG 9.26).
– Lila: Satyabhama promised Narada Rishi that she would give him an offering weighing the same as Krishna, but the scales never balanced. It was only when Radharani placed a Tulasi leaf on one of the scales that it became heavier than Krishna’s.
– The power of Tulasi, Krishna’s shuddha-bhakta.
– Krishna will accept your offerings only with a Tulasi leaf.
