– On the meaning of the word body.
– Within the gross body there is the subtle body formed of mind, intelligence, and false ego; and within the subtle body there is the soul.
– The spontaneous nature of the soul is to serve the Lord: jīvera ‘svarūpa’ haya — kṛṣṇera ‘nitya-dāsa’… (CC Madhya-lila 108-109).
– There are different philosophies, but the best is Bhakti-yoga: bhakti-yogena manasi samyak praṇihite ’male… (SB 1.7.4).
– The word yoga means union—union with the Lord.
– The Bhagavad Gita mentions different types of yoga.
– A sloka that speaks of the nine limbs of bhakti: śravaṇaṁ kīrtanaṁ viṣṇoḥ smaraṇaṁ pāda-sevanam… (SB 7.5.23-24).
– On material sound and transcendental sound.
– We cleanse the body with water, but how can we cleanse the heart of envy, lust, and anger? Only with the Holy Names and the Harikatha.
– Chant the Holy Names in association with a sadhu, and your life will be successful.
– Merely sleeping, eating, mating, and defending oneself are not enough to differentiate humans from animals: āhāra-nidrā-bhaya-maithunaṁ ca… (Hitopadesa 25).
– What differentiates humans from animals is the ability to discriminate right from wrong, chant the Holy Names, and practice devotional service to the Lord in association with sadhus.
