15 August 2025 morning – How to Obtain Eternal Happiness (English translation) | Delhi, India | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

– One of the names of this material world is duniya, which means suffering.

– When we experience a small, fleeting material pleasure, like fireworks, we call it happiness.

– We remain completely deluded by Maya within the uninterrupted cycle of birth and death.

– There is no true happiness in this world, which is the place of suffering.

– If we act in the mode of goodness, we can obtain worldly happiness, such as being born into a high family, having wealth, and knowledge, and then we become absorbed in this, considering it happiness.

– In the Srimad Bhagavatam, it is said that souls in this world engage in only two types of activities: during the day, working to earn money and spending money on family, and at night, sleeping and seeking pleasures such as watching movies, going to parties, etc.

– Rare souls in this world are thinking about spirituality, but after so much wandering in this world, when their sukrti (spiritual activities) accumulates, they begin to ask themselves: “What am I doing with my life?”

– When we meet a sadhu (saint) and receive the mantra, the witch of Maya disappears.

– To achieve eternal happiness, we need to do sadhana and bhajana.

– Jnanis (cultivators of knowledge) do not wish to go to the material heaven, for they know that the happiness they will find there is also temporary.

– When we compare the immense happiness we obtain in Goloka Vrndavana (prema-ananda, love for Radha and Krsna) with the happiness obtained in the effulgence of God, we see that this happiness is as paltry as that of a firefly.

– Maya distracts us, causing us to make friends and enemies in this life, when the only friendship we should have is with Bhagavam (Krsna). Even if a person attains the status of Lord Brahma after 100 lifetimes following varnasrama-dharma, after death, they are reborn in the material world.

– There are two ways to merge with the Lord: in His effulgence, and in the Supersoul that resides within every living entity. Merging with the effulgence still allows for some escape, but not with the Supersoul.

– To attain eternal, perennial, and transcendental happiness, it is necessary to practice bhakti (pure devotion to the Lord).
