In his early days in Mathura, Srila Gurudeva Srimad Bhaktivedanta Vana Gosvami Maharaja Ji once entered the Mathura cantonment and met a senior Indian Army officer named Quereshi.
Srila Gurudeva gave him the Jaiva Dharma book.
As he began reading, he was surprised. He said he had never seen such beautiful Hindi. He was a scholar in many languages, but this touched him deeply, and he wanted to meet the author of the book.
The officer also shared that although he is a Muslim, being in the army he never discriminates between any religion. He especially appreciated the Hindi in Jaiva Dharma.
Later, he came personally for darshan of
Srila Paramgurudeva Om Vishnupada Astottara-sata-sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja Ji, and they had a very nice meeting.
After that, whenever there was a festival, he would come again.
