19 Jan 2025 evening – Most Beautiful Gita Govinda (English) | Sao Paulo, Brazil | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

0:01:15 – Materialistic people are absorbed in a lower taste; the higher taste is Harinama.

0:08:43 – The story of a young girl who was singing Gita Govinda. How Lord Jagannatha ran after her when the bell of the pujari rang and He ran into the altar room. The altar room was in disorder; valuable ornaments and garments were all scattered. The king, accusing the pujari, put him into prison. How Lord Jagannatha told the king that actually it was I who did all this, having heard the beautiful Gita Govinda.

0:20:43 – Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was staying in the Gambhira, and every day He would go to Gadadhara at Gopinatha.

0:21:08 – One day the Lord went to the Tota Gopinatha temple, and a young girl was singing the song … “Jaya Jaya Deva Hare …”

0:22:44 – Continuation: the Lord ran after her; then His servant Govinda stopped Him: “Prabhu, this is a woman.” Therefore, in the opening shloka of Gita Govinda, Jiva Goswamipada says: to immerse oneself in prema for the Divine Couple, Radha and Krishna.

0:26:00 – The human body is compared to a bag filled with stool; the bodies of Krishna and Radhika are transcendental; Krishna’s body is composed of three energies; Radhika’s body is composed of one energy of bliss; Ananda-pradayini – the one who bestows bliss.

0:33:07 – Lord Chaitanya and Lord Jagannatha are intoxicated by Gita Govinda.

0:34:40 – An example of a man eating unrefined cane sugar.

0:35:43 – The example of an ant from the land of sugar and an ant from the land of salt. The sugar-land ant invited the salt-land ant, and when it tasted the nectar of the land of sugar, it did not feel any difference. Then the ant opened its mouth and saw that it had a huge piece of salt in its mouth. If the jivas do not give up the taste for material things, how will the higher taste come? If even a drop of taste comes by the mercy of Guru and the Vaishnavas, then your heart can become purified.

0:46:46 – Gita Govinda contains the highest taste; chant the holy names.

0:48:49 – Shuka, sari (parrots)… This is a shloka that describes how Radhika is preparing to meet Krishna. Four types of heroes and eight types of heroines; meeting, the mood of separation, obstacles to meeting, exchanging bliss and love – all of this is described in Gita Govinda.

0:52:00 – “Radhika, give up Your mana, meet Krishna, Your beloved” – and if one develops even a little of this taste, that is the highest goal. Srila Gurudeva Narayana Goswami Maharaja said that one must develop the highest taste; otherwise, what is the meaning of performing sadhana and bhajana?
