– Surabhi-Kunja is in Godruma. Go means cow, and druma means tree.

– In this place Indra took shelter at the lotus feet of the cow Surabhi, on account of the offenses he committed in the pastime of Giriraja Maharaja.

– Navadvipa removes all offenses.

– Indra wanted to get rid of the offenses completely, so he went to where the cow Surabhi was performing austerities at the foot of the tree called the banyan tree, and took shelter in her.

– Krsna was pleased and said Navadvipa is no different from Vrndavana. In Kali Yuga I will come as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabu and preach the chanting of the Holy Names.

– In Kali-yuga, Indra appears as King Prataparudra.

– Here Nityananda opened the market of the Holy Names, and Bhaktivinoda swept this place.

– The chanting of namabhasa, appearance of the Holy Names, comes when one is almost free from offenses.

– From here Bhaktivinoda saw Mayapur, the pastime-place of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

– Markandeya Rsi was in that place at the time of universal destruction, pralaya.

– Gurudeva says a prayer: “O Gaura Sundara, be merciful so that the glories of this place and the pastimes of Radha Krsna may be manifested in our hearts.
