04/12/20 pm – Cira harana lila katha, Krsna steals gopi’s clothes (English translation)

Part 1

– Srimad Bhagavatam, 10th Canto, 22nd Chapter, Katyayani vrata katha; – Age of Krsna, sakhas and gopis in the cira harana lila (when Krsna stole the clothes of the gopis) and other lilas; – At such a young age, they didn’t have any romantic desire/thought (kama vikara); – Meaning of “kumara”; – Kids don’t have duplicity and hypocrisy, the parents teach these to the kids by their behavior; – Story of the kid, father and grandfather and the old bowl for eating; – Gopis try, by 4 ways, to convice Krsna to give their clothes back: sama (sweet words), dama (offering reward), danda (threatening) and bheda (divide and rule); – Example of flattering words: story of the crow and the piece of cheese.

Part 2

– Srimad Bhagavatam, 10th Canto, 22nd Chapter, Katyayani vrata katha; – Gopis try, by 4 ways, to convice Krsna to give their clothes back: sama (sweet words), dama (offering reward), danda (threatening) and bheda (divide and rule); – Krsna said He thought that those clothes belonged to demigodesses; – Krsna felt compassion for the gopis when He saw them shaking due to the cold; – Why did Krsna ask the gopis for them to raise their two arms? We should’t have deha abhiman/shyness in front of Lord, we should completely surrender; – Offense: bathing naked and offering pranama with one hand only; – Wrong siddhanta: to think that the clothes represented the anarthas of the gopis (they had no anarthas!)
