20 Jan 2025 morning – Anugatya (English) | Sao Paulo Airport, Brazil | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

0:00:00 – Anugatya means always following the desire of Krishna.

0:00:25 – Srimati Radharani manifests Her mana. Why does She do this? Because She knows Krishna’s heart. This is explained in the book Prema-samputa.

0:01:12 – An excerpt from the book: Devangana is Krishna in disguise. He came to Radhika and asked, “Why are You angry with Krishna?” Radhika replied, “Actually, I am not angry, because I know Krishna’s heart. Externally it appears as anger; internally it is prema.”

0:02:57 – Question: What does anugatya-svarupa-siddhi-bhakti mean? You described the highest example of anugatya. Anugatya means simply following the instruction; the example of dust. Bhakti-pada-dhuli … this is the power of sadhana, like dust follows you. Anu means to be under guidance; Srimati Radharani follows Krishna.

0:05:02 – The story of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhupada: externally he did not follow the instruction of his guru. When he asked, “I want to build the first temple in Calcutta,” Gurudeva replied, “This place is Kali.” But he still built the temple there. Why? Because he knew his guru’s heart. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the words of a sadhu.

0:07:49 – When a sadhaka rises to the level of bhava and beyond, he understands the heart of the guru, what is positive and what is otherwise. The levels of devotees: kanistha, madhyama, uttama. Each understands according to his own level. The kanistha follows directly, the madhyama may argue, the uttama himself takes the decision.

0:10:00 – An example from Chaitanya-charitamrita: Lord Ramachandra, Purushottama, Sitadevi, and Chhaya Sita. The first example: when Ramachandra went to the forest because Kaikeyi told Him to. Why? Because He understood the heart of His father.

0:12:00 – The second example is Purushottama. He accepted his father’s instruction and cut off his mother’s head without any questions, then asked for a blessing for his mother’s life.

0:13:20 – Chhaya Sita: actually, it was not the real Sita who entered the fire. Lakshmana argued with Ramachandra: “Why do You doubt the chastity of Sitadevi?” How Ravana abducted the unreal Sita.

0:16:07 – These examples are given, and a lesson (loka-shiksha) is taught there, depending on how much one is engaged in sadhana and bhajana.
