How Guru Nourishes His Disciples
“Our Rupa Gosvamipada explains, Guru nourishes his disciples in how many ways? Three ways. Hardika – In His heart giving the blessing. Vachika – with his words he’s giving. Alokadana – his glance of eyes.
Mercy is coming in 3 ways.
Again Rupa Gosvamipada explains also, Guru nourishes his disciple in again 4 ways. As like bird, tortoise, fish and crocodile. Read Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu, this example how he nourishes his disciple.
Birds. Birds lay the eggs, but sitting on the egg. Then after a few days the small baby birds coming out.
Another example is the fish. Female fish taking all the small small fish and going on. Understand? Then if any obstacles or problems coming that time the one female fish makes one sound then automatically all they are going out. Again coming this way. There is a sign. Female fish give the sign, then they all running. You can see this way.
Third give an example as like tortoise. Tortoise lays the eggs in one place and is not staying there. Understand. But she remembers and she’s coming in her remembrance and nourishes her small babys.
Crocodile nourishes her small baby, and going very far but if any problem or danger will come, very quickly she will come and attack you. That is called dura drishti. Far away she is looking.
So in this way Guru also nourishment his disciples. But everything depends on surrender. If you do not surrender what will you do. Yathecchasi tathā kuru. What you want what you do, do. No problem. When you surrender then you’ll realize.

Krsna told to Arjuna. Arjuna asked ‘what to do what not to do?’. ‘Okay everything has been prepared for you and prescribed in sastra what to do what not to do. You are not foolish, you are intelligent. You should think what to do what not to do’. Then Arjuna said ‘Okay I cannot do anything. My brain is not working. I surrender to you’.

(BG 18.66)
Krishna told to Arjuna. This is last atma samarpan. So this is the process. When surrender that time you’ll realize, otherwise not. You’ll do this, this, what to do. When surrender then you’ll realize. If not surrender, Guru realize if he’s surrender or not. You cannot pretend. ‘Gurudeva everything belongs to you but your lotus feet are mine’. Guru knows or not? You cannot cheat the Guru. People try to cheat the Guru, cheat Krishna. But you cannot cheat. Guru he is also cheater than you, he’s a big cheater. You cannot cheat. You are thinking ‘I will cheat you’ but Guru he is higher then cheater, you cannot cheat Guru. Understand? Actually Guru he does not cheat to anyone.”
