- Categories of prema:
Hetu-prema: love with a cause;
Ahetu-prema: love without a cause;
Aptakama: self-satisfied;
Aptarama: fulfills one’s desires;
Gurudrohi: offender;
Krtajnata: gratitude;
Akrtajnata: ingratitude. - Krsna tells the gopis that His feelings are not in these categories of prema because He has sahaja-prema: spontaneous love.
- It is not perfect to say “I love Gurudeva” because Guru is asraya-tattva and we feel love for visaya-tattva Sri Krsna.
- We should have asakti (attachment) for the Guru.
- Prema appears only in the highest stage of bhakti.
