- The mahamantra purifies the mirror of the heart, because since the Lord is a friend, He enters the heart and purifies it.
- Merciful sloka: śṛṇvatāṁ sva-kathāḥ kṛṣṇaḥ (SB. 1.2.17).
- The Guru is a friend of Krsna, and Krsna purifies the heart of the one who is a friend of His friend!
- The sign that the heart is clean is the appearance of krsna-prema, which makes the devotee sing and dance, cry and laugh.
