Prema-vivarta, Day 3: Ekātmā Means Śrī Caitanya — Brahma, Paramātmā and Rādhā-pada-dāsī
• Ekātmā Is Not Nirvikāra Brahma: Continuing Prema-vivarta from Day 2, Gurudeva takes the word ekātmā in the maṅgalācaraṇa śloka. If one reads it as formless brahma from which Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa take form, that is not the verse’s intention; the two are one ātmā as Caitanya-prakāśa (Prema-vivarta 1.43–44).
• Caitanya Never Brahma: Mahāprabhu is never nirvikāra brahma; He is viśuddha sākāra, full of ānanda-vikāra. Brahma is the nirviśeṣa lustre of His aṅga, and He Himself is brahma’s pratiṣṭhā (1.45–46; Bhagavad-gītā 14.27).
• Adhikāra and Kathā: The principal meaning of brahma for the śuddha-bhakta is Bhagavān (Bhāgavatam 1.2.11). Respect every ādhāra; until faith for hari-kathā arises, karma continues (11.20.9). Kārtika rules and soft means draw people toward nitya-bhakti.
• Svarūpa Knows Ekātmā: Svarūpa Dāmodara and the blessed understand ekātmā as Śrī Caitanya; bowing to that tattva brings Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa-sevā (1.47–48).
• Paramātmā Is His Aṁśa: Reading ekātmā as paramātmā alone contradicts caitanyākhya. The Rāmānuja sweet story shows firm faith that the Lord as witness sees everywhere. Jñāna can still err (rasagullā mistaken for an egg); bhakti is like moonlight that never fails under itself, unlike a lamp (1.49–51).
• Svayaṁ Bhagavān: After listing avatāras the Bhāgavatam and Brahma-saṁhitā establish Kṛṣṇa as Svayaṁ Bhagavān; others are aṁśa and kalā (Bhāgavatam 1.3.28; Brahma-saṁhitā 5.39). His form admits only aupamya, never equality.
• Rādhā-pada-dāsī: Jagadānanda’s prayer — maidservant of Rādhā’s feet, loving the form adorned with Her dyuti — and daṇḍa at Śacī-suta’s feet as sole shelter (1.52–54). One becomes two and two become one as Gaura; brahma, paramātmā and bhagavat are three pratītis of one tattva.
• Mother Tongue, Kāgabhuśuṇḍi, Three Names: Praise of the grantha’s layout; khaga jāne khaga kī bhāṣā. Garuḍa’s doubt, Kāgabhuśuṇḍi’s Bāla-Rāma līlā, and the counsel never to forget spiritual name, guru’s name and hari-nāma. Without hari-bhajana one cannot cross bhava (Rāmacaritamānasa Uttara 122-ka). Close with Bhaktivinoda’s kṛṣṇera saṁsāra: give up anācāra, show jīve dayā, and take kṛṣṇa-nāma as the essence of dharma.
The kathā ends; harināma and the jayadhvani follow.
