09 Oct 2026 evening – Hari-katha is the Food for the Soul (English) – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

– Does the cage exist for the bird, or does the bird exist for the cage? Therefore, we must nourish the soul, which is like the bird.
– The five elements of this body separate when the soul leaves this body.
– The conversation between Kapila Deva and Devahuti, where he advises his mother to always associate with sadhus and listen to Harikatha.
– All incarnations of Krishna are no different from Himself.
– The desire to merge into Brahman is a type of anartha that is very difficult to remove from the heart, considered duplicity and hypocrisy.
– The desire to merge into Isvara is also very dangerous, as there is no chance of reincarnation once we immerse ourselves in Paramatma.
– Through association with the sadhu, we understand that we should not follow this path of merging into nothing.
– If you are not gradually abandoning the desire for material enjoyment, it means you are not properly practicing suddha-bhakti.
– Vairagya must arise; otherwise, there is some defect in spiritual practice, which are usually aparadhas.
– There are four types of anarthas, namely: the illusion about our own spiritual nature; the other is the weakness of the heart (anger, pride, etc.); the desire for enjoyment; and aparadhas.
– We need to understand who our Istadeva is in order to then practice our spiritual life.
– The Lord is one, but He has three aspects.
– As we draw closer to the Lord, we increasingly obtain the darshana of His beautiful form.
– First, we must understand jiva-tattva; we are eternal serving parts and parcels of the Lord.
– Krpana is one who has failed to realize about his own soul; making a comparison with material life, it would be like a person who neither eats nor feeds others, only hoards money.
– Just a little practice of suddha-bhakti will free us from all unhappiness and suffering.
– Abandon association with mayavadis, those who say that the Lord has no form.
