Guaranteed Goosebumps ♥️ Alarnath Rare Darshan
Around 500 years ago, during Anavasara, after Snana Yatra, when Lord Jagannath was not giving darshan in Jagannath Puri, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu could not tolerate separation from His beloved Jagannath.
In that deep Jagannath viraha, Mahaprabhu left Puri and went to Alarnath.
Sri Chaitanya-caritamrita Madhya 1.122 says:
“anavasare jagannathera na pana darasana
virahe alalanatha karila gamana”
“When Jagannath was absent from the temple, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, unable to see Him, felt separation and went to Alalanatha.”
At Alarnath, Mahaprabhu offered pranams before Lord Alarnath in such intense divine love that, by the heat of his body, the stone beneath Him melted and received the sacred impressions of His body.
That stone, known as Prema Sila, is still present today.
