– His name was Vinoda-bihari Brahmachari.

– He was born in East Bengal and was extremely compassionate towards living beings.

– A story is told of how his mother wanted to punish him for coming home late, but burst into tears when she found out that he was late because he had been helping a woman in need.

– External compassion is giving cloth, food or medicine, but internal compassion is helping someone reach a transcendental world.

– Verse: tava kathāmṛtaṁ tapta-jīvanaṁ… (Gopi-gita 9).

– In transcendental Vrindavana, the wish-fulfilling trees provide the Vrajavasis with everything they need.

– Verse: cintāmaṇi-prakara-sadmasu kalpa-vṛkṣa… (Brahma-samhita 5.29)
