Today Srila Bhaktivedanta Vana Gosvami Maharaja Ji took all the devotees up the steep hill to Bhujang Dev Temple in Bhuj. The climb wasn’t easy, but Gurudev — even at the age of 66 — teaches us that some blessings can only be received when you put in the effort to reach them.
Bhujang Dev is a very old and special temple connected to Baladeva Prabhu. Local history says that the city of “Bhuj” got its name from “Bhujanga,” because this form of Baladeva Prabhu was considered the protector of this entire region.
Gurudev reminded everyone that without the mercy of Baladeva Prabhu, the heart never becomes steady in bhakti. Only He can give the inner strength needed to serve Sri Sri Radha and Krishna sincerely.
Moreover, Baladeva Prabhu appears in Vraja as Ananga Manjari, serving Srimati Radhika as Her very own little sister. That means when we come here, we are not just praying for strength — we are praying to become the maidservant of Srimati Radhika, which is the highest perfection goal of our lives.
