20 August 2025 morning – Approach a Bona Fide Guru (English) | Hong Kong | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

Airport

– All living beings are eternal, transcendental servants of Krishna.
– You are not your body; you are your soul.
– If the guru is pleased with the disciple, he will give him prema.
– Verse: cintā-maṇir loka-sukhaṁ surendraḥ svarga-saṁpadam… (Padma Purana: Bhagavata-mahatmya, 1.8).
– Verse: tasmād guruṁ prapadyeta jijñāsuḥ śreya uttamam…(SB 11.3.21).
– Approach a bona fide guru who has the following three qualifications: 1) He is detached from material sense. 2) He has a vast knowledge of shastra. 3) He has realised Radha and Krishna.
– Verse: tad viddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā…(BG 4.34).
– Do not ask your guru material questions. Instead, ask him the following spiritual questions: Who am I? Why am I suffering from the three folds of maya? How can I be free from them? What is my sadhana? What is my sadhya?
– Verse: vaidagdhya-sindhur anurāga-rasaika-sindhur, vātsalya-sindhur, ati-sāndra-kṛpaika sindhuḥ…(Radha-rasa-sudha-nidhi 18).
– First, learn about the oceans and islands of this material world. Then, you will understand the oceans of Srimati Radhika.
– Even in material life, be sure of your path (a story of a man who gazed at the stars and stumbled into a ditch).
– Anuloma and viloma.
– Srimad-Bhagavatam has all types of knowledge.
