SUMMARY

– This mountain melted after hearing Prahlada’s wish to save people rather than receive a blessing from Narasimhadeva.

– Verse: prāyeṇa deva munayaḥ sva-vimukti-kāmā… (SB 7.9.44).

– People in this world fast for their own goals, for example the long life of their husband, but Prahlada Maharaja was selfless.

– Practise and preach.

– Ugra-murti of Narasimha.

– Somakasura stole the Vedas from Brahma, but the Lord took them back (Satya-yuga katha). This is why this mountain is known as Veda Giri Parvata.

– Hiranyakashipu was given the blessing not to be killed in many circumstances.
