- In Satya-yuga (golden age) souls meditated on the Lord (Srimad Bhagavatam), jnana meditation, e.g. Dhruva Maharaja.
- In Treta-yuga there was fire sacrifice, for example, Lord Ramachandra appeared in that age and performed fire sacrifice.
