Special Message on Akshaya Tritiya by Srila Gurudeva Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Vana Gosvami Maharaj Ji.
In this world, everything is perishable. But the atma and Paramatma are imperishable.
Bhagavad Gita 2.40
नेहाभिक्रमनाशोऽस्ति प्रत्यवायो न विद्यते ।
स्वल्पमप्यस्य धर्मस्य त्रायते महतो भयात् ॥ ४० ॥
nehābhikrama-nāśo ’sti
pratyavāyo na vidyate
sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya
trāyate mahato bhayāt
Translation:
In this endeavor there is no loss or diminution, and even a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear.
The verse above is talking about Bhakti.
Everything around us changes. Time passes. Situations change. Even our own body changes. But the spiritual steps we take never go to waste. Bhakti is imperishable.
Today is a reminder to invest in something that will stay with us beyond this lifetime.
Chant a little more. Hear a little more Hari-katha. Take one sincere step forward.
