This Bhagavatam is not speaking any duplicity and hypocrisy. Srimad-Bhagavatam is always speaking what is absolutely true. Always speak the truth. If you’ll speak the truth [people] will be angry. This is true or not? This is the truth. If you speak the truth then people will become very angry. This is true. But other Puranas katha is called madhu-pushpita-vakyam, understand or no?
Madhu-pushpita-vakyam means that katha is little bit sweet katha but completely useless, attracts the people. Just give an example of the plastic flowers. Looks nice or not? Yes. First you put perfume then fragrance will come very nice. This is called artificial flowers. Very attractive but artificial. Not true.
In the same way other Puranas katha, that is called madhu-pushpita-vakyam, to attract the people. Many katha is there. Karma-katha, jnana-katha, yoga-katha, tapasya-katha. People they like, so for this regard other Puranas will speak. But Srimad-Bhagavatam directly cuts this katha. Dharma, karma, artha, moksha, this is not our ultimate goal. Our ultimate goal is krisha-prema.

chidyante sarva-saṁśayāḥ
kṣīyante cāsya karmāṇi
dṛṣṭe parāvare
Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.2.21)
Srimad-Bhagavatam is a direct operation on your heart. Heart operation. Two ways you can operate your heart. One is called direct, another is called bypass surgery. Heart operation. Nowadays modern science is putting one kinds of camera inside you and operating. And another way is to directly open your chest. Heart operation. Which do you want?
You want bypass surgery. But Srimad-Bhagavatam directly opens your heart and cut your chest. Understand. When there is direct operation then maybe you will stay alive or die, understand. So you’re afraid and saying no, no! I want bypass surgery. But Srimad-Bhagavatam is direct. Meaning direct instruction. Saying, hey stupid nonsenses! Give up this stupid none sense. Srimad-Bhagavatam is not speaking any madhu-pushpita-vakyam. No hypocrisy, no duplicity. Direct. Saying chant holy names!

This is good or not? Direct. All this katha is direct. Give up all bad things stupid nonsense. Give up your boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, children, everything, cats, dogs animals. Give up all your attachment and chant holy names,

So Srimad-Bhagavatam is giving everything directly. Not indirectly. So for this regard many people are afraid to read Srimad-Bhagavatam. Afraid to listen to Srimad Bhagavat-katha. Because direct operation.
bhidyate hṛdaya-granthiś
chidyante sarva-saṁśayāḥ
If the knots are on one rope how will you open? Take one knife and cut. Or another way you can open very slow, taking one way and taking time. And Srimad-Bhagavatam is direct. So saying this

Take one sword and cut. What will you prefer? Take one sword and cut. Do or die. So for this regard for Srimad-Bhagavatam katha less people are coming. Less people want. Other kathas, Purana kathas, Shiva Puranas, Kalika Purana, Devi Purana, many Puranas katha. Other Puranas katha thousands of people listen. But during Srimad-Bhagavatam katha less people listen. Why? Because Srimad-Bhagavatam as like direct sword. Hey come! Chant Holy names! Saying or not?

Srimad-Bhagavatam is the perfect doctor. [Srila] Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada explains two kinds of doctors. One kinds of doctors is giving the perfect medicine, operation. And another doctor just giving blowing on the skin. So Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada gives an example. One person has a boil. So he went to the one doctor who is just giving the blowing on the skin, a little bit of medicine and just giving some temporary relief. This is true also, temporarily you will get some relief. But actually inside is also what, all the pus that is creating the gangrene. Gangrene, understand? Or if you go to the one doctor that’s a perfect doctor, oh this boil inside has pus, have to cut and operate. Then feeling so much pain. Then you abuse doctor and use harsh words, oh stupid doctor I am feeling pain, OOOH! And with his hands and legs beating to the doctor, but by force the doctor is cutting and took out all your pus, blood and cleaning everything and putting one medicine. Then after 6-7 days you’re clean and you come to doctor and say oh my God. That day I used many harsh words to you but you are my best friend.
But which doctor do you prefer? Perfect doctor. But doctor that just blows on you, don’t go to this doctor. Go to the doctor that can properly do operation and can take out all the pus and blood.
So in the same way the Srimad-Bhagavatam directly explains all this tattva. Karma, jnana, yoga, tapasya. By the performance of these things you will not attain the abode of the Lord. Temporarily you will get some relief, enjoyment. Understand? If you have some boil you will blow on it because some cool air is blowing from your mouth, so temporarily one second, five seconds you feel relief or not? But inside there is completely gangrene. So what will you do? Go to the perfect doctor. So Srimad-Bhagavatam explains all these things. So Srimad-Bhagavatam is saying to give up karma, jnana, yoga, tapasya (austerities). Only you practice shuddha-bhakti.”
