00:00:11 — Everything related to the Lord is transcendental. Example from the Mahabharata: Krishna left His garland in the chariot—why? Because Krishna and His possessions are non-different from His divine energy
00:08:00 — The glory of Navadvipa-dhama: it is audarya (magnanimity, generosity). During parikrama, Param Gurudev said: “Even if you are very tired, no problem—you can simply lie down facing this direction, and the dhama will accept it as: ‘Oh, My devotee is offering obeisances to Me,’ and grant the same result as parikrama.” Bhaktivinoda Thakur said that even if someone does not offer formal obeisances but simply lies down, the Lord accepts it as such. One prostration in Navadvipa-dhama is equal to 108 obeisances in Govardhana parikrama. If you go to Vraja, you receive the fruit of Vraja parikrama; but if you go to Navadvipa-dhama, you receive both—the fruit of Navadvipa and Vraja. All holy places are present there. The presiding deity is Baladeva Prabhu. Together with Jiva Goswamipad, He performed parikrama and revealed its glories, described in Navadvipa-dhama-mahatmya
00:13:27 — Today is the disappearance day of Srila Jagannatha dasa Babaji Maharaj. What are his glories? He identified the birthplace of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In the biography of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur it is said: “I spent my life in material enjoyment; I must go to Vrindavan.” Then in a dream, Shivaji appeared and told him: “O Bhaktivinoda Thakur, you are a great mahatma and saint. Your goal is not only to perform sadhana, but to preach.” Then Bhaktivinoda Thakur discovered the birthplace of Mahaprabhu. While doing prachara there, he suddenly saw many devotees performing sadhana and chanting—Srivasa Thakur, Gadadhara, chanting “Swagatam, Swagatam…”—and then everything disappeared. He asked a Muslim man (as Muslims ruled that area at the time), “What is this place?” Crossing the river, he went there and saw many Tulasi plants growing. He asked, “You are Muslim—why is Tulasi growing here?” The man replied, “No matter how much we remove it and plant other seeds, Tulasi always grows here.” Then Bhaktivinoda Thakur understood: this is the place. He measured it and declared it the birthplace of Mahaprabhu
When he later came to Jagannatha dasa Babaji Maharaj—who was then 144 years old and staying at Surya-kunda in Vrindavan—there were disciples complaining about their guru. Bhaktivinoda Thakur said: “If your guru told you to plant eggplants, then that is what must be done. Not only chanting, but service is also required. Whatever a mahatma says is truth.” Then taste for the Holy Name will come, sukriti will mature, and sadhu-sanga will arise
00:27:27 — A story from Manasi Ganga: once Sanatana Goswamipad was performing bhajana, but there were many mosquitoes, so he decided to leave. Shivaji said: “Do not leave.” He drove away the mosquitoes with his hair, and since then there have been no mosquitoes there
00:28:28 — A story about a Bengali devotee: he came to the dhama but could not sleep due to mosquitoes and had no mosquito net. He shut all doors and windows, trying to sleep, when he saw what seemed like a mosquito with a lantern—it was actually a firefly. He thought, “Oh no, a mosquito came with a lantern to find and bite me!”
00:31:23 — Continuation of the Sanatana Goswami story: Shivaji said that at that place Srimati Radharani and Krishna performed boat pastimes, and therefore there are no mosquitoes there
00:32:36 — Bhaktivinoda Thakur showed the birthplace of Mahaprabhu to Jagannatha dasa Babaji Maharaj. Upon seeing it, he exclaimed: “Here my Lord appeared!” and became absorbed in divine pastimes—an uttama-maha-bhagavata. Beautiful incidents occurred: when he sat to eat, puppies would come, and he would say, “Oh, these are Vrajavasis, Namavasis—even the cows are Namavasis”
00:36:46 — Bhaktivinoda Thakur explained who true Namavasis are: those who remember the Lord’s pastimes 24 hours a day, like Sanatana and Rupa. We must pray for the mercy of the Vrajavasis
00:42:45 — Bhaktivinoda Thakur prayed: “When will that day come, on the banks of the Ganga—He Radha, He Krishna—when I will roll in the dust of this holy place? I pray for the mercy of the residents of Navadvipa-dhama.” What should we do? Avoid prajalpa (idle talk), hear hari-katha, and drink the pure water of the Ganga. If you go to Navadvipa-dhama, you receive a result a thousand times greater than Kumbha Mela, because Gaurahari bathed there. Even offenders should go to Navadvipa-dhama—Shivaji and Brahma also came there and were freed from offenses
In Bengal, people are materially poor and perform great austerities—we may not be able to do such austerities, nor do we have such deep love. Therefore, chant “Nitai Gauranga”—and you will receive inspiration
