Bhakti in the mood of opulence and sweetness, the difference between the devotees of Vaikuntha and Vrndavana.
Madhurya means sweetness, and, Kadambini means a beautiful rain cloud about to pour, whose refreshing manifestation in the sky enchants everyone with its misty colors due to the rays of the Sun.
Visvanatha Cakravarti Pada begins this book by glorifying Caitanya Mahaprabhu because only He grants krsna-prema.
Mahaprabhu grants krsna-prema to everyone, without discriminating who is or is not qualified.
Just as rain cannot touch the desert floor, conditioned souls cannot find relief from the miseries of Maya. Nevertheless, Mahaprabhu bestows the all-relieving mercy of prema without hindrance.
Vraja-prema is rare even for powerful people like Siva, Brahma and Narada.
In addition to prema, Mahaprabhu bestows the pot for receiving. The pot is humility. It makes the devotee humble.
Sloka that highlights humility: tṛṇād api su-nīcena… (Siksastaka 3).
Mahaprabhu gives prema even to those who do not want it, just as a mother gives food to a baby who does not want to eat.
A story that represents the greatness of motherly love even in the face of a child’s cruelty.
Motherly love is the highest in the material world; Lover’s love is the highest in the spiritual world.
