Without sadhu-sanga, association with the spiritual master, it is not possible to free oneself from the material world.
Tulasi Dasa says in Rama Carita Manasa: “I can even believe that by grinding sand someone made oil, but reaching the Lord without bhagavat-bhajan is impossible”.
No one will be able to cross the material ocean without the shelter and mercy of the Guru’s lotus feet, even if he has the knowledge of Brahma.
Bhaktisidhanta Sarasvati: “If someone meets a Guru and does not accept initiation, in the next life he will be born in an animal body.”

Everyone remembers Krsna when they are sad, but no one remembers in happiness. But if the memory comes when you are happy, then there will be no sadness.
