The jiva’s good fortune happens when he manages to associate with the sadhu.
Not everyone has the fortune to recognize the sadhu and associate with him.
There are those jivas/people who associate with the sadhu just like mosquitoes do.
We must learn to associate properly with the sadhu.
Three powerful substances:
Bhakta-pada-dhūli – taking the dust from the pure devotee’s lotus feet: inner meaning = following the Guru’s instructions;
bhakta-pada-jala – drinking the water that bathes the lotus feet of the pure devotee: internal meaning = listening to Harikatha, drinking with the ears;
Bhakta-bhukta-avaśesa – honoring the remnants of the pure devotee: inner meaning = honoring the mood – the bhava – of the pure devotee. Become able, through sadhu-sanga, to understand the heart of the pure devotee!
