In this month of Purusottama, we should serve the Deity and listen to harikatha.
The month of Purusottama comes every three years and the one who presides over it is Lord Krishna, while the one who presides over the month of Kartika is Srimati Radhika.

Offering only one ghee lamp, serving brahmanas and cows in this month is very auspicious.
One who stays in Purusottama Ksetra (that is, Jagannatha Puri) and does bhajana during this month gets much more fruit.
