01 Jun 2023 midday – The Sadhaka and the Spiritual Life (English) – Siedelsbrunn, Germany | Srila BV Vana Maharaja

  • Krishna gives us sanga and then He turns away, so is this world, the sun rises and sets, the waves of the sea come and go.
  • You can’t even imagine how many countless souls are born and die in this cycle, come and go.
  • When Krishna was here, you were all here.
  • In this path of repeated birth and death, one day the soul attains sadhu-sanga and hari-katha, and then Bhakti-devi manifests in the heart.
  • Sloka: satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido
  • There are different sadhus and different bhakta-sadhus.
  • Different bhaktas: premature-bhakta (Uddhava); parapremi-bhakta (Pandavas); premi-bhakta (Hanuman); sudha-bhakta (Ambarisa Maharaja); jnani-bhakta (Prahlada Maharaja).
  • Dvaraka is purna-dhama; Mathura is purnatara; and Vrndavana is purnattama.
  • Krsna has 10 sons and 1 daughter with each of His 16,108 queens.
  • Satyabhama is an expansion of Radha and Rukmini is an expansion of Candravali.
  • Lila of Kamadeva arriving at Krsna’s assembly.
  • All the queens of Krishna are very powerful and gifted.
  • The queens of Dvaraka are expansions of the gopis.
  • Description of the excellent qualities of the queens of Krishna, but they do not control Krishna.
  • Music: Sri Radha Krpa Kataksa Stava Raja.
  • Three types of uttama-bhagavata sadhus: bhagavata-parsada-deha-prapta – eternal associates of Krishna: Narada Muni is an example.
Murchita-kashaya – has a certain degree of sattvika-bhava attainment: Narada Muni when he was the son of a servant girl in his previous life.
Nirdhuta-kashaya – completely free from attachment: Sukadeva Gosvami is an example of this.
  • Narada means: the one who cannot be stopped.
  • Lila of Narada Muni, proud, thought he had conquered lust.
  • Sloka: bhaktis tu bhagavad-bhakta-sangena parijayate
  • Devotees who have accumulated and matured sukrti are able to recognise a great master.
  • Sukrti leads one to the sadhu, and samskara creates true desire (lobha).
  • Very high sloka: kṛṣṇa-bhakti-rasa-bhāvitā matiḥ krīyatāṁ yadi kuto ‘pi labhyate
  • Samskara is very important.
  • Vaidhi-bhakti goes only as far as Vaikuntha, but without vaidhi-bhakti it is not possible to begin spiritual life.
  • Adhu guru padasraya, diksa, siksa, visrambhena, guru-seva.
  • You have to read many granthas.
  • Being absorbed in one’s siddha-deha happens at the stage of bhava.
  • By doing sadhana little by little, the devotee realises himself. But if you have problems, don’t go to Mr Gupta – laughter!
  • One must control lust and anger to progress.
  • Do not cover one eye with your fingers, because that is inauspicious, a bad sign.
  • The difference between sukrti and samskara.
