18 May 2023 morning – The Glories of Harinama (English) – Mirepoix, France | Srila BV Vana Maharaja
tvdegurudev
When harinama dances on the tongue, the devotee longs to have thousands of tongues and ears to chant and hear the holy names.
Logicians only accept things according to their brains.
Three labels are needed: pranipatena/pranipata (surrender), pariprasnena (submissive questioning) and savaya (tendency to serve).
We hear harikatha a thousand times and don’t understand, we teach and don’t understand. One understands transcendental things only when the Lord manifests them in our hearts, and that is because of seva-vrtti, the tendency to serve.
Sloka: brahmāṇḍa bhramite kona bhāgyavān jīva guru-kṛṣṇa-prasāde pāya bhakti
We already have everything in the heart: nitya-siddha kṛṣṇa-prema ‘sādhya’ kabhu naya śravaṇādi-śuddha-citte karaye udaya
One has to associate with the sadhu for everything to manifest.
Even if one lives millions of lives with accumulated sukrti, one cannot attain vraja-prema without associating with the guru whose heart is filled with vraja-prema.
Surrender and pay with your desire to hear harikatha.
Desire is something spontaneous and does not depend on anything.
Desire has three characteristics: following the rules of the sastras, being in Vraja, and associating with a pure rasika Vaisnava.
The process begins by taking the shelter of the guru, taking diksa and following the instructions of the guru and the sastra.
Begin by studying the Upadesamrta: vāco vegaḿ manasaḥ krodhavegaḿ jihvā vegam udaropastha vegam etān vegān yo viṣaheta dhīraḥ sarvām apīmāḿ pṛthivīḿ sa śiṣyāt
This is very important: Look up (get to know the lives of the acaryas), look around (the practice of the devotees) and look within (look within yourself, your own heart).
Fix your mind, without duplicity and without hypocrisy.
It is important to self-evaluate: how many rounds of japa are you singing, serving, absorbing yourself in Krishna.
On the bhajana of Rupa and Sanatana Gosvamis: Sad Gosvami Astakam.
Sanatana Gosvami and Sivaji.
Oh Lord! Manifest Your lilas in my heart and my life will be successful.
Without association with the sadhu, bhakti will never manifest in our hearts.
Rupa and Sanatana were doing bhajana in Vrndavana, associating together to discuss transcendental matters, Srimad Bhagavatam, and even Srimati Radhika came to listen.
Srimati Radhika lights the fire with a single sweet breath.
You have to balance tattva and rasa-siddhanta.
