Bhakti should be applied to Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa-bhakta;
punya-karma is the cause of the bondage in maya;

Once, demigods were all claiming to be the best; Narada Rsi told them to do prithvi-devi parikrama to decide; Slokas: sarvopadhi-vinirmuktamtat-paratvena nirmalamhrsikena hrsikesasevanam bhaktir ucyate(CC Mad 19.170) Bhakti, or devotional service, means engaging all of one’s senses in the service of the Sri Krsna, the master of the senses. When the spirit soul [jiva] renders service unto the Supreme, there are two side effects: one is freed from all material designations, and one’s senses become purified and spiritualized.
